The 90-day Challenge - Week 3
Last week actually went quite well for me. I really feel like I am hitting my stride again and making good choices when it comes to food and exercise. Some of the things that used to be difficult are becoming pretty easy. I’m starting to really understand serving sizes and I’m getting pretty good at estimating calories. I’ve also learned that it’s ok to special order foods at a restaurant, like steamed veggies instead of french fries.
As for weight loss, over the last week (Mon-Mon) I have lost 6.6 pounds. This may seem a little too high but the averages still come out ok and I’m not worried.
I also started working on doing more weight training to help increase my metabolism and hopefully increase my overall body tone. Right now I’m still pretty well focused on fat loss but a mix of cardio and weights seems ideal.
One thing I need to work on is actually going to the gym. I haven’t been in a few weeks and it’s time to go back. There is a second location that I need to go visit and see if I like that better. Right now I only need basic cardio and weight equipment so it should work.
I still do the bulk of my exercise with walking and I’ve started upping the distances I can walk in one shot. I was able to make it nearly 7 miles which is now my new high. I am training to walk the Lincoln half-marathon in May and right now I need to focus on not only distance but speed. My speed is still not up to the level I was hoping for but I have plenty of time.
